Address: 576 Danforth Ave. Toronto, ON
When I visited: February 2015, lunch, 6 people, Winterlicious
Winterlicious for many people means the opportunity to try out new restaurants. However, it is important to not forget the chained restaurants during Winterlicious. Like many of you, I have been to Il Fornello a countless number of times across the GTA, but during Winterlicious, you get the same portions as if you were to order off the regular menu, but at a great discount.
For lunch, I ordered the arugula and roasted beet salad with goat cheese, the pizza melanzane with roasted eggplant and olives, and tiramisu for dessert. The 3 course pre-fix lunch portions were generous and satisfying, and even better that it was $18 before tax!
As for the Danforth location, the décor is true to the other chains with plenty of space for large groups. The best part is seeing the opened concept kitchen with the stone oven. As Winterlicious is over, the restaurant continues to have several ongoing specials that make it worth while to check out if you are in the area.
